26.-28.09.2008 - Nuria and Marga are visiting Germany
Nuria and Marga are visiting the dog-meeting of our partner
organisation Vergessene Pfoten e.V..
"In these 3 days we met a lot of our dogs and their wonderful families.
It was a great experience, which gave as a lot of energy to go on with
our difficult work.
We would like to thank all, who made these unforgetable days posible for
us!"
2008-08-07 - We had special volunteers
here...
From 31st of july to 7th
august we had special volunteers, Maria-Ann Jugekt and Barbara Stich,
here. During one week they lived together with our dogs and they made
all the difficult work for us as cleaning the kennels, feeding the dogs
and treating them with medecine etc.. We thank you for coming and being
with us in your free time for helping us and especially we thank you for
taking care of our dogs. Our dogs and we really hold you in high esteem.
Please come back one day! ;-)
2008-08-04 - Also a little help is a
big help
Yesterday Julia (9 years), Nina and Peter (7 years) gave a
little bag with money to our german volunteer Marion.
During the last week they painted some animal-pictures and sold them in
their village by walking from door to door.
Together they "earned" € 4,12 and they would like to send us this amount
as donation.
Not only the three are very proud, no, aswell we are very proud of our
little helpers. :-)
2008-07-18 - We were visited by Sabine Ferrari...
...from the organization Tierschutz-Spanien e.V.. Thank you very
much for visiting us in your holidays, which were so special for you!

2008-07-14 - Last weekend 28 of our dogs could travel to Germany!
We, from the Refugio Andújar, would like to thank the team of the
Vergessene Pfoten e.V., because they realized a great success with
helping us.
When we moved to our refugio in june, we had 150 dogs with us. But our
refugio only has places for 100 dogs and it really was too full.
Since june Vergessene Pfoten e.V. brought more than 50 dogs from
us to Germany! First we brought 11 dogs to the Finca Lucendum in
Alicante to allocate them there until they could fly to Germany. Marc
came to our refugio and brought 4 dogs back to Germany. In between we
brought dogs to the airport for several times, from where they could fly
to Germany. Last weekend another transport from the Vergessene Pfoten
e.V. came to Andújar to bring 28 dogs, from which 2 were for our
partner-organisation Tierschutz Spanien e.V., to their new families.
Therefore we thank them very much because now our dogs here have the
place they need to feel better. It is a wonderful team which helps us
every day.

Urgently we need materials against protection from sun and wind for
our dog-areas!!!
Our refugio is situated near Andújar and there is a lot of sun and
strong wind. To protect our dogs we need mats.
One mat with 2 x 5 m costs € 35,-. We need 12 of these!

The
city hall of Andújar rests on our laurels.
The society for the prevention of cruelty to
animals "San Francisco de Asís" has achieved, thanks to his
enormous effort,
that the city hall of Andújar had to put to sleep no dog during the last
2 years. It isn’t right what the newspaper "El Ideal" published that
the local authorities have saved these dogs: No, these were our 8
voluntary assistants, who have seen
day after day in "Centro de Control Animal" (in the local homicide
station) that ours and very often also the kennels of the city hall are
cleaned, realised from vermin and disinfected. Our 8 voluntary
assistants have fed the dogs, supplied medically and vaccinated,
prepared for the trip to her new home, and in addition, have still
brought to the airport so far away, so that they could be sent to her
families. WE have done all this with 175
dogs, which have saved the city hall of Andújar reportedly. WE HAVE
SAVED THESE DOGS. In the aforesaid article neither the dogs ridden over
nor the seriously ill dogs were mentioned, which we could treat only
hard, because the veterinarian, who makes available his services to the
city hall, any time wasn’t in the Centro de Control Animal to look the
dogs in two years. He would have come only for putting to sleep and not
to supply emergencies veterinary. WE helped this dogs. Hereby we would
like to thank the environmental delegation of the city hall of Andújar
for your flexibility that the caught dogs were not put to sleep. That we
could save them due to our big strength. Without this flexibility this
would not have been possible. In the end we hope that the city hall of
Andújar, can publish a similar article like yesterday (30.06.2008) in
the newspaper next year. But then you should also mention that we are
not present since June this year any more in the Centro de Control
Animal and our services are not available any more, because we have
moved in our own animal home. Oh they should not forget that we have
moved with all dogs (150 dogs belonged to us and were still caught by
the employee of the city hall in May) - except those of the other
society for the prevention of cruelty to animals in Andújar, which is
also present in the Perrera. The capacity of our animal home is
overcrowded.
